 Vanilla Cake

This yummy vanilla cake recipe is perfect for any carved cake or "Inside Surprise" cake  that requires a thicker batter consistency!

  • Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup butter

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract 

  • 3 eggs

  • 3 1/2 cups flour

  • 4 1/2 tsp. baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • 1 1/2 cup milk

Directions:

  • Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla.  

  • Add in one egg at a time and mix until combined.  

  • In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt.  

  • Add dry mixture into the wet mixture in four additions alternating with milk, mixing after each addition until combined.  

  • Pour into parchment paper lined cake pan and bake at 350F for 45-60 min.  

*Cake yields two 8" round cakes/one 10" round cake/one 8" round sphere cake

Veganize it!

Swap out the few non-vegan items for vegan friendly ones, and you’ve got your self a yummy vegan cake!
milk-> dairy free milk alternative (I prefer soy, but you can use which ever you prefer)
Butter-> Vegan butter (Earth Balance works great because it hardens up when chilled just like butter)
Eggs-> There are lot’s of different egg substitutes you can use such as a flax eggs, apple sauce, soda, pumpkin pure or just a store bought egg replacer.
